Re: Annual Appeal Goal of $14,000.00

Dear Family and Friends of Mount Carmel Care Center:

It has been almost five years since the Carmelite Sisters for the Aged and Infirm acquired Mount Carmel Care Center. We continue to be Berkshire County’s only faith-based facility. As many of you know, despite the tight budgets nursing homes are faced with, much work has been done to update the facility, create exceptional care, and to improve our living spaces and rehabilitation area.

We need to do more, and that’s where we hope we can count on you to help. We want to begin our first ANNUAL APPEAL and invite you to contribute to this year’s focus for improvement:

The Social (Main) Dining Room. The heart of our home! In a year we serve over 21,000 meals there and provide over 1300 activity programs. It’s the center of the residents’ lives. We’ve painted it, and put up new window treatments, but the chairs have outlived their useful lives, and the flooring is worn and unattractive. Our residents deserve a room that is attractive, comfortable and functional.

We ask your help in enhancing the environment of our Social Dining Room. Our fund drive this year will be used to pay for new flooring, to match the type used in the main corridors, AND new, more functional and comfortable chairs for the residents to use. The cost:

Social Dining Room – Flooring $7647.00; Replace Chairs – $6,260.00

Can we count on you to help us reach our goal? Any donation large or small would be appreciated. We are here to serve you and your family in time of need both for short-term rehabilitation and for longer term skilled nursing care. Help us to build the facility of the future.

Your gift will change the lives of the people in our community. Make a difference today!

Or donate any amount you like here:

Sincerely and Respectfully,

George Mercier, Administrator
